The Maruti Suzuki added a new feather in their cap with the launch of much-awaited S-Presso, a mini SUV on 30th September 2019. It is a stunning-looking small car and is based on the Future-S Concept Car showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. This car has a lot to offer, especially to people looking for a small and compact car.
Colours
The car is available in six interesting and exciting colours. These are all new colour options- Pearl Staryy Blue, Solid Sizzle Orange, Solid Fire Red, Superior White, Metallic Silky Silver, and Metallic Granite Grey.
Variants
Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is available in four variants. These are VXI+, VXI, LXI, and Standard. These variants are further available into ten iterations depending on transmission choices and optional trims. These variations are- VXI+ AGS, VXI (O) AGS, VXI AGS, VXI+, VXI (O), VXI, LXI (O), LXI, Standard (O), and Standard.
Concept
This brand-new car from the house of Maruti Suzuki is built on the fifth-generation HEARTECT platform derivative. Moreover, it has been adapted as per the Indian market.
40 per cent high tensile steel is used by this platform in its construction which ensures safer, stronger, and a robust structure. The product also comes with 98% localization, thus proving to be a Make in India Product.
Dimensions
S-Presso is 1520 mm in width, 3665 mm in length, and 2380 mm long wheelbase. The car is available in two- 13 and 14-inch wheel sizes.
Design and Styling
This much talked about the car by Maruti Suzuki has been designed and styled on the lines of an SUV. Many SUV features like beefy bumpers, high ground clearance, tall stance, and underbody cladding can be seen. The car also has hexagonal elements on the grille flanked by a pair of wraparound headlamps. There are two separate chambers for the indicators and headlights. The bold muscular lines of the bumper give it a chiselled and edgy look. Black cladding on its lower half adds to its SUV Style. The VXI and VXI+ variants come with a full wheel cover. Its profile looks quite impressive with body-coloured ORVMs, and blacked-out B-pillar. The big boot lid and C-shaped tail lamps at the rear with black bumper cladding and muscular bumper horizontal reflectors make the car looks more impressive.
Interiors
The S-Presso cabin comes with an impressive dashboard which looks more like a sports watch. Its body coloured bezels and the black base colour looks quite nice. 7-inch touchscreen display with the Smartplay Studio offering Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is available in the top variants. The centre part has an instrument cluster, which is a digital unit. A set of USB and the air-con system along with 12V charging sockets is located below the instrument cluster. Mounted toggles and audio controls on the steering perfectly suitable for conventional telephony.
Safety
S-Presso is a very safe car. It comes with a two-point hip seatbelt for the rear middle passenger and three-point seatbelts of four passengers. Standard safety features like driver-side airbag ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminder, rear parking sensors, high-speed alert, etc., are also available besides crash and pedestrian protection.
Engine
The car has similar Alto K10 hatchback 1.0-litre petrol engine and it makes 90 Nm of peak torque at 3500 rpm and 67 bhp. Its BS6 compliant engine comes with 5-speed manual gearbox.
It is a great budget-friendly car available at a very exciting price and perfect for Indian road conditions.
